Robin’s ‘Rita: A Bubbly Twist on a Flat Classic

We’ve all heard the old saying “Liquor then beer, you’re in the clear; beer then liquor, never sicker.”  But what about beer in liquor?  Turns out, the answer is “happy quicker!”  This weekend the summer season officially kicks off and what better excuse to take a break from the bench than to celebrate with a summer classic – the margarita.

Nothing is quite as refreshing on a hot summer day than a margarita and the Weers Ranch ‘Rita is a delicious place to start.  To give a bit of variety to your ‘rita repertoire, we present a unique twist on the classsic that may sound a bit weird, but will not disappoint.

.

Ingredients (serves approximately 8 drinks):

  • 1 large (12oz) can frozen Limeade
  • 12 oz Tequilla
  • 2 cans beer
  • 1 dozen Key limes (optional)

.

Approximately one hour before friends arrive, empty the can of Limeade into a pitcher.  Fill the empty can with Tequilla, add it to the pitcher, and stir.  Then place the pitcher in the refrigerator to chill.  To serve, stir in the two beers and pour into your favorite margarita glass (ice optional).  For an optional garnish, slice key limes in half and place 2-4 halves in each glass.

.

Tip:

When choosing a beer, start with a lighter-bodied variety first, then feel free to experiment with darker beers to suit your taste preferences.
