1. Reputations are NOT to be trusted, no matter what the university's rankings are.
2. You shouldn't do what your grad school PI suggests, unless you completely agree (I actually think mine wanted me to continue onto a "prestigious" postdoc because s/he was on tenure track…and you know, the current status of past students goes on their paperwork) – in this case, just be selfish, because they are.
3. Lastly, my postdoc, either fortunately or unfortunately, confirmed why I'm not entirely happy in the scientific world, and helped me take an important step into my ideal non-scientific career path. Too bad I didn't realize this one earlier, but hey, we all learn from experiences, and I certainly acquired useful skills.

And to all postdocs out there, especially those in prestigious universities going through a bad situation, it seems that we're not alone! That's good, maybe. Maybe not! But more importantly, go be happy!! Don't wait!
