"I actually do the final flame so that the spreader is curved on both sides - makes it easier to use. If you don't do it, sometimes the straight end catches on the agar and can break the spreader."

"Did you have to make sure the hole in the end of the pipet got sealed up so that when you dip the spreader in ethanol and flame, the ethanol doesn' t go in the hole and explode back out?"
