Facebook Connect Is Here!

Life is complicated these days.  The last thing you need is another username and password to remember… Well, the days of 398 different login names and passwords are numbered, and trust us, the end won’t come soon enough.

We’re here to make your life easier so that’s why we’re proud to announce some exciting new features we’ve added to the site!

For Logging into BenchFly:

Facebook Connect

Now, you can login to BenchFly using your Facebook username and password.  Once logged into BenchFly, you will have the option of posting your comments and videos to your Facebook wall to share with your friends.  It’s easy:

If you don’t have a BenchFly account,

1. click the “Join/Login” button at the top-right of the page
2. select the Facebook Connect option
3. enter your Facebook Username and password in the pop-up window.

That’s it!  You now have a BenchFly account that you can access with your Facebook login information.

If you already have a BenchFly account,

1. make sure you’re logged out (if you’re logged out, there will be no “My Bench” tab in the persistent navigation at the top of the page)
2. click the “Join/Login” button at the top-right of the page
3. select the Facebook Connect option
4. enter your Facebook Username and password in the pop-up window.
5. you will then be asked to enter your BenchFly username and password.  This will link the accounts and is only required once.

Once you login, you’re ready to go!  After merging the accounts, you can login using your Facebook username and password from now on.

For Leaving Blog Comments:

We’ve also expanded the options for leaving comments.  We believe in allowing users to decide how they interact with the site.  Clearly, the veil of anonymity is important for some comments.  In this case, we provide two options for speaking your mind without reproach…

However, there are certainly times when we’d like a little credit where credit is due! So we’ve expanded the offerings to include:

Facebook, Twitter or OpenID

Like a Choose Your Own Adventure, you are now in control of your own destiny!  We hope these additional features will help cut at least one more login/password out of your life!
